A swarm of bees conducted the perfect "sting operation" in Darnall on KwaZulu-Natal's north coast on Saturday - by preventing looters from stealing beer from an overturned truck.
In one video clip that has gone viral on social media, motorists, safely secured in their vehicle and overlooking parked SAPS and traffic police vehicles, laughed hysterically as they recorded the commotion.
A woman in a pink dress, a man in what resembled a municipal uniform, and police were among those seen hitting their heads, or swatting at the bees, as they desperately tried to make a dash to safety.
As the motorist begins to drive off, still recording, some of the bees buzz past their windscreen. A few crates of beer can be seen on the road and a firefighter in protective gear walks towards the cordoned-off truck. Others, seemingly unaware of the drama ahead, casually walk towards the truck.
On the Facebook group "SA Truck King. We are trucking", shared in on the incident.
