Broll launches new specialist asset finance company

Cape Town - Broll Financial Services (BFS) announced this week the launch of a specialist asset finance company, Catalyst Structured Property Finance, as an intermediary service provider for the property market.

Broll initiated the venture with its partner, Cape of Good Hope Bank, after growing demand from clients for improved structured property finance.

BFS is the holding company for Broll Property Group, which specialises in property leasing and management, and Property Asset Managers, a niche asset management firm. BFS has retained Lance Hunter Consulting for one year to help establish Catalyst.

Catalyst comprises accountants, actuaries, attorneys and financial experts. It will provide structured finance, property equity finance and mortgage finance to the property industry on a national scale.

Catalyst`s services would be available to commercial property owners and developers and to institutional, private and corporate owners and developers, a spokesman said.

"It is our intention to tailor make property finance deals by providing the most efficient use of funds for any given deal," Lance Hunter said.

"No property deal is the same. Catalyst has been established as an intermediary service provider."

Catalyst`s structured solutions offer higher levels of tax efficiency. The company will raise appropriate and competitive mortgage finance to suit client requirements and help manage interest rate risk.

Catalyst already has clients nationwide who have specific requirements for specialised finance which do not fall within the scope of services provided by the larger corporate and merchant banks.
