Vienna - Andritz, an Austrian maker of machines for producing pulp and steel, said it has won a €100-million (R871.7 million) order from Sappi to supply equipment to its Saiccor pulp mill in South Africa.
Andritz will supply bleaching, evaporation and pulp drying gear to the mill, located near Durban, the Graz, Austria-based company said in an e-mailed statement on Tuesday.
The machinery will increase the mill's capacity for producing bleached viscose pulp, used in products from textiles to plastics, by one-third to about 800 000 tons a year, Andritz said. Sappi is the world's largest producer of glossy paper used in magazines. - Bloomberg
