Imperial Holdings buys Terex Africa

Johannesburg - Imperial Holdings had bought Terex Africa, which distributes a range of heavy equipment in sub-Saharan Africa, the JSE-listed diversified transport and asset finance group said yesterday.

Imperial did not give a price for the purchase of Terex Africa, a unit of the US-based Terex Corporation, which manufactures construction, mining, road building and other heavy plant equipment. The deal is subject to approval competition authorities.

Shares in Imperial were unchanged at R149, while the JSE's industrial transport sector fell by 0.86 percent. - Reuters
