The Competition Tribunal ruled against Telkom and its subsidiary Trudon yesterday in a complaint by Directory Solutions that Telkom was abusing its market dominance.
In line with the interim relief sought by Directory Solutions, the tribunal said Trudon should accept listings from Directory Solutions' customers without demanding upfront payment.
Trudon does not require an upfront payment from its own customers. Telkom owns 64.9 percent of Trudon, which publishes the official telephone directories.
