THE MINISTER of Mineral Resources Ngoako Ramatlhodi is determined to see the mining charter fully implemented to the letter despite a stand-off over the interpretation of the ownership clause of the charter. Ramatlhodi’s special adviser Mahlodi Muofhe said yesterday: “Seeing issues differently… can result in those who feel aggrieved with no choice but to go (to the) courts. Litigation of this nature… can result in lengthy court processes which may go on for years before being resolved thereby end up delaying the implementation of the mining charter even longer.” Meanwhile, Ramatlhodi said he found the threat by the National Union of Mineworkers to pass a vote of no confidence in him “regrettable”. – Staff Reporter and African News Agency
