DURBAN - Forbes just released the list of The World's Highest-Paid Models 2017.
Here we take look at the top money makers of the model industry:
1. Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner pulled in $22 million according to Forbes. Jenner has 85 million Instagram followers more than double any other model on the list. The 22-year-old has turned her digital fame into dollars and has advertised for brands like Estee Lauder, La Perla and Adidas.
2. Gisele Bündchen

Gisele Bundchen was knocked down from the top spot this year. She has appeared on more than 1 200 covers in her career that spans 20 years. She also earned more than any model between 2002 and 2016. Bundchen made $17,5 million. Although she retired from the runway in 2015, she still banks millions from her lucrative deal with Carolina Herrera as well as advertisements for Arezzo shoes and Vivara jewellery.
3. Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen does a lot of work outside of modelling including hosting Lip Sync Battle and being a cookbook author. She also appears in campaigns for hair care company Tresemme and cosmetics brand BECCA amongst others. Teigen makes millions from advertisements with beverage brands like Vita Coco and Smirnoff. Teigen made $13,5 million.
4. Adriana Lima

Adriana Lima is the face of Sportmax and Marc Jacobs fragrance. She also hosts a hair and makeup competition called American Beauty Star. Lima is the longest-running Angel in the history of Victoria Secret which she joined in 2000. Her seniority with the brand earns her a supersized deal with the lingerie maker. Lima made $10,5 million.
5. Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid and her sister Bella Hadid are the first sisters to appear on this list. Thanks to her strong following on social media she can command top dollar from brands who want to target a younger audience. Hadid also has her own collections with Maybelline, Vogue eyewear and Tommy Hilfiger.
5. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

This British model gave birth in June and still advertised for Ugg, jewellery house Nirav Modi, a Burberry fragrance and released a line of jeans with Paige. The cut that she makes from the sales of her own line of makeup, lingerie and fragrances line at British department store Mark's and Spencer account for a big chunk of her millions. She ties with Gigi Hadid at $9,5 million.
7. Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss made $9 million. She founded Kode with Klossy an education non-profit that has taught women and girls the basics of computer programming. She also runs her own Youtube channel and hosts a forthcoming talk show on Freeform. Her current contracts include lucrative deals with brands like Adidas, Swarovski and Express.
8. Liu Wen

Liu Wen does adverts for lingerie brand La Perla and activewear company Puma amongst others. Since there has been a lack of representation of models of colour, Wen has experienced many firsts. Wen was the first Asian spokesperson for beauty company Estee Lauder, the first Chinese model to walk Victoria's Secret runway and the first to be on the cover of American Vogue.
9. Bella Hadid

The younger of the Hadid sisters, Bella made $6 million. Hadid has been busy this year, posing for brands like Dior, Nike and Nars cosmetics.
10. Ashley Graham

Ashely Graham makes her debut on this list. This is due to own lines for Addition Elle, Dressbarn and Swimsuits For All as well as campaigns with Lane Bryant and H&M among others. Graham made $55,5 million.
