In an impressive display of efficiency and reliability, Checkers Sixty60 has broken multiple records during its Early Black Friday promotion, delivering a staggering 7.5 million products in just four days.
This online-exclusive sale, which ran from 20 to 23 November, saw Checkers Sixty60 achieving its highest-ever daily orders on Saturday, 22 November, marking a significant milestone for both the brand and its loyal customers.
The results from this promotions are telling.
Over the four-day period, Checkers Sixty60 successfully picked 97.6% of first choice products ordered in full, exceeding the 2025 average of 96.8%.
An impressive 95.3% of these orders were delivered on time, surpassing the company’s projected average of 94%.
Customers, who flocked to the app with over 1.9 million visits, enjoyed an average grocery delivery time of merely 33 minutes, evidence of the app's streamlined service during one of the busiest retail periods of the year.
Neil Schreuder, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer for the Shoprite Group, praised the team’s efficiency, stating, “It’s easy to market convenience and low prices, but it’s another thing entirely to maintain speed, accuracy and scale during one of the busiest retail periods of the year. These results speak directly to the trust customers place in Sixty60 to deliver and our teams’ ability to meet that promise.”
While grocery staples dominated sales, big-ticket items also made a significant impact this year. Top grocery products included Clover Gouda and Cheddar Cheese, Cadbury Slabs, Nescafe Gold Instant Coffee, Butro Spread, and Tastic Long Grain Rice.
The success extended beyond groceries; this year also marked the inclusion of Checkers Sixty60's expanded general merchandise range, which attracted customers eager for deep discounts on high-end items.
Popular sold items like the Snowmaster Camping Fridge and Dyson Floor Cleaner resonated strongly with shoppers looking for quality and reliability.
As part of the Early Black Friday event, Checkers Sixty60 helped customers save significantly, with 4,791 products available at lower prices compared to last year.
Furthermore, Xtra Savings members saved an astounding 114% more than during the same promotion last year, solidifying Sixty60’s commitment to affordability and convenience across a diverse range of products.
“We’ve worked hard to evolve Sixty60 into more than just a groceries app with competitive prices,” Schreuder said.
“This Black Friday shows customers are increasingly turning to us for high-end brands and general merchandise too – and that we can deliver both affordability and reliability across the board.”
