The Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) announced on Tuesday that it has officially launched MISA TV, a new digital platform aimed at educating, informing and empowering workers across South Africa’s motor industry.
The channel will officially go live on 19 May 2026 at 19:00 and will stream on Facebook and YouTube, offering workers access to industry information, financial guidance and workplace support.
According to MISA, the platform has been designed to provide workers in the motor industry with practical and accessible knowledge as the industry continues to evolve.
The first episode features an interview with Adam Esat, Principal Officer of the Motor Industry Retirement Fund, who discusses the two pot retirement system, retirement claims processes and the role the fund plays in protecting workers’ retirement contributions.
Martle Keyter, Chief Executive Officer of Operations at MISA, said the platform reflects the union’s commitment to supporting workers through education and transparency.
“MISA TV is a platform for workers to gain knowledge, clarity and confidence in navigating the challenges they face,” said Keyter.
“Our goal is to ensure that workers are not left behind in complex policy changes or industry shifts. By bringing experts directly to our members through MISA TV, we are reinforcing our commitment to transparency, empowerment and solidarity with workers.”
MISA TV will feature regular educational segments and interviews focused on retirement planning, workplace rights, industry developments and union initiatives.
The organisation said the use of digital platforms would allow workers across the country to access reliable information at any time and from anywhere.

MISA said the launch of the channel also signals a broader effort to modernise worker engagement and improve access to critical information in an industry facing ongoing economic and technological change.
“As the motor industry evolves, MISA remains steadfast in its mission to protect workers and their families, while equipping them with the tools to thrive in a changing environment,” the organisation said.
MISA invited workers, stakeholders and media partners to tune into the first broadcast and participate in the launch of the new platform.
“Together, let us build a future where knowledge empowers and solidarity strengthens,” the organisation said.
