The Pezula Group, which owns the Private Estate and the Championship Golf Course at Pezula near Knysna, has entered into an agreement with African Pride Hotels and Lodges to develop an international five-star luxury hotel overlooking the Knysna lagoon and Indian Ocean.
The hotel, costing more than R100 million, will have 80 deluxe suites, a world-class wellness centre, silver service restaurant, conference centre and the existing championship golf course.
The Pezula Club and Private Estate which, together with the championship course next to the Sparrebosch Estate, consists of
1 000 hectares with 4km of coastline, has already attracted millions of rands from overseas and domestic investors.
Thirty of the hotel suites are to be sold to South African and international investors on a sectional title basis. Owners will have the right to use their suites for a predetermined number of days each year, receive guaranteed income from the room revenue and receive membership of the Championship Golf Course at Pezula.
Building of the hotel will start next month and is expected to be completed by late 2004.
