Durban - Work on Durban's 2010 Moses Mabhida stadium resumed on Tuesday after a two-week long strike, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said.
More than 1 000 construction workers returned to work at 7.00am after a resolution was reached on Monday between the workers and their building contractor, Group Five/WBHO consortium.
Workers were unhappy with project bonuses and the safety compliance officers elected by the consortium.
"They are back at work," NUM KwaZulu-Natal regional co-ordinator Bonginkosi Mncwabe said on Tuesday.
He said the stadium was two months ahead of schedule before the strike began and did not expect it to have any impact on the completion date. - Sapa
