Durban - Global Brands was still committed to its contract with troubled textile and clothing group Seardel, the master licensee for Fifa merchandise said on Friday.
Paul Zacks, the general manager of Global Brands in South Africa, said that the company would be given an opportunity to improve its financial position.
"Our contract with them is still in place and it is important for us that they continue to be our supplier for 2010," Zacks said.
Seardel is one of four firms that have secured exclusive rights from Global Brands to manufacture, distribute or retail product lines as Fifa merchandise around the country.
The other firms are Edgars Consolidated Stores, Pitco-Busby and Captivity Headware.
Asked if there were any time frames set for Seardel, Zacks said: "I can't divulge that. It is sensitive at this stage." Last week Seardel said it expected to report a full-year loss of R1.99 a share.
