The High Court in Johannesburg has again ordered that Congress of the People president Mosiuoa Lekota be reinstated to his position.
Judge Rami Mathopo gave an order to execute on his previous ruling that the vote of no confidence in Lekota's leadership passed by the Cope congress was illegal.
"I am persuaded that irreparable harm will be suffered by the applicant," said Mathopo.
He also turned down a request from Cope deputy president Mbhazima Shilowa's lawyer for leave to appeal and recommended that they approach the Supreme Court of Appeal if they want to take the matter further.
Shilowa and Lekota were involved in a heated leadership dispute, which had ended up in the courts. - Sapa
