Nersa confirms new CEO

The National Energy Regulator of SA (Nersa) confirmed on Wednesday that Cabinet had approved the appointment of Phindile Nzimande as CEO and full-time regulator member primarily responsible for the administration of the energy regulator.

Nzimande will assume her duties on May 1.

The energy regulator has appointed Nomalanga Sithole, executive manager for corporate services, to act as CEO until the end of April. Sithole's acting appointment was assigned for administrative responsibilities only, the regulator said.

Nersa also confirmed that Cabinet had approved the appointment of Thembani Bukula as full-time regulator member primarily responsible for electricity industry regulation; Ethel Teljeur as full-time regulator member primarily responsible for piped-gas industry regulation; and Dr Rod Crompton as full-time regulator member primarily responsible for petroleum pipelines industry regulation.

These appointments are for a period of five years and are effective from April 1. - I-Net Bridge
