The rest of this week was not looking good for Eskom’s power grid, the utility said yesterday. Khulu Phasiwe, an Eskom spokesman, said the utility did not have enough capacity as some of its generators were still out on maintenance. “For the rest of the week we are not in a good position. But our engineers are doing everything to avoid load shedding,” said Phasiwe. He said that electricity demand was high this week while capacity was weak. – Siphamandla Goge
