COGNITION Holdings, reported a 1.31 percent decline in revenue to R62.4 million as a result of the group’s transition from being listed on the Altx board to the main board of the JSE and changing its name to Cognition Holdings from FoneWorx, the telecoms and information technology solutions provider said yesterday. In its statement for the six months to December, Cognition said the transition resulted in a realignment of soliciting less profitable revenue, particularly if it was not aligned to the group’s desired future strategy. The group’s gross profit was up by 3.68 percent from R36.5m to R37.8m growth profit before tax up by 11.87 percent from R19m to R21.3m. During the period the group hosted more than 300 services, linked to branded products, on behalf of 80 clients such as X Factor SA, Strictly Come Dancing, SA’s Got Talent and Idols among others. Cognition said its focus during the year would be on community builds. – Nompumelelo Magwaza
