Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) on Friday announced a significant achievement, with Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) securing the number one spot in the prestigious AirHelp Score 2025.
This top ranking places CTIA at the forefront of global airport service excellence, reaffirming its position as a world-class hub for travelers.
CTIA received an outstanding overall score of 8.57, with particularly impressive marks for on-time performance (8.6) and customer experience (8.7). This exceptional performance highlights the airport's commitment to operational excellence and delivering a seamless, top-tier experience for passengers.
In addition to CTIA's global success, King Shaka International Airport (KSIA) in Durban also earned recognition, securing 7th place in the rankings. KSIA achieved an extraordinary 8.9 for on-time performance, the highest of all 250 airports assessed worldwide. This remarkable achievement further cements ACSA’s standing as a global leader in airport service delivery.
The AirHelp Score 2025 evaluates the top 250 airports globally based on three key criteria:
On-time performance (60% weight)
Customer opinion (20% weight)
Food and shops (20% weight)
The rankings are based on insights gathered from over 13500 passengers across 58 countries between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025, offering a comprehensive view of passenger satisfaction across multiple dimensions.
Acsa said the recognition underscores the company's strategic focus on operational innovation, customer-centric services, and continued investment in world-class airport infrastructure. As air travel rebounds globally, accolades like these reinforce South Africa’s status as a premier destination for tourism and investment.
