Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children will not be called “His Royal Highness” or “Her Royal Highness,” according to reports.

King Charles III has agreed to bestow the titles of “Prince” and “Princess” on Archie and Lilibet but has refused to allow them to be known as HRH.

The future king, Prince William, who has long championed a leaner monarchy, is reportedly crafting his own blueprint for the next generation of working royals.

Prince William and Prince Harry's relationship is said to be beyond repair, and the future king is reportedly planning to take an easy step to ensure his brother's children are not part of the royal family.

Sources say that once William becomes king, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, will be outcasts from the royal fold under his reign.

What does ‘HRH’ stand for and how are ‘HRH’ royals treated differently?

HRH stands for “His Royal Highness” or “Her Royal Highness.”

King George V declared in 1917 that both sons and daughters of the ruling monarch, as well as grandchildren from the sovereign’s male line, were entitled to be called HRH.

An “HRH” title gives access to a salary as a working royal, and entitles one to official protection and security.

It also means people are supposed to bow or curtsy when an HRH approaches.

Norman Baker, a former government minister, has previously revealed that the monarch has the authority to remove the HRH title as it was bestowed as a gift. Baker said, “It would basically be the equivalent to an executive order in the U.S.”

In Baker’s views, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should have been stripped of their titles when they stepped down as working royals. He added that it was ‘a mistake’ not to do so.

An inside source told The Guardian that despite the anger he once felt toward his brother following the release of “Spare” in 2023, he is now indifferent as far as the rift is concerned.

The exiled couple is apparently furious over the snub.

It is known that Prince Harry wants his children to retain their HRH titles, allowing them the freedom to decide in the future whether to take on royal duties or continue building their lives in the US.

Who currently holds an ‘HRH’ title in the United Kingdom?

The title is currently held by King Charles III; Queen Consort Camilla; Princess Anne; Prince Edward; Sophie, Countess of Wessex; Prince William; Princess Kate; their three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte; and Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Andrew was stripped of the HRH title for his close ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein after the prince was accused of sex trafficking and sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre.

Both Princess Diana and Sarah, Duchess of York, were stripped of the titles when they divorced their respective husbands, Charles and Andrew.
