Like mother, like daughter, Tyla’s mother, Sharleen Jasmin, oozes confidence as she sings along to her daughter’s chart-topping hit “Is It”.

In the TikTok video, she rocks a short hairstyle that has her resembling Tyla while showcasing her pride as a mother to one of South Africa’s global talents.

Her new  TikTok page is filled with videos celebrating Tyla’s music and success. With each scroll, there’s another one of her daughter’s songs used as sound, from viral singles to fan favourites, showing just how much she embraces Tyla’s journey.

Jasmin is a mother of four. Alongside Tyla, her children are Whitney Jasmin, Tyrese Seethal, and Sydney Seethal. Each sibling has their own path while remaining connected through their support for one another.

Whitney, the eldest, is based in Durban and works as an audiologist, describing her role as helping people regain the ability to hear so they too can enjoy her sister’s music. She even made a cameo appearance in Tyla’s “Jump” music video.

Sydney, the youngest, has become a TikTok sensation in her own right, with over a million followers. Her content is fun and relatable, often showing glimpses of her life both in South Africa and abroad.

Their brother, Tyrese, has stepped into entrepreneurship, co-running a talent management company with friends while also being a supportive brother.

Meanwhile, Tyla’s global reach continues to make an impact; her song “Push 2 Start” has been selected for the official NBA 2K26 game soundtrack.

The tracklist features a mix of hip hop, rap, as well as alternative music, with artists such as Luh Tyler, Cypress Hill, Rob49, NxWorries, Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, Doechii, Future, Denzel Curry, Wu-Tang Clan, and more.

NBA 2K26 is the latest instalment in the NBA 2K video game series, which continues the franchise’s tradition of spotlighting music that connects with basketball culture.

According to “The Source”, the game will refresh its playlist throughout the year, bringing back classic tracks from earlier editions while also introducing new sounds.

This gives fans a chance to revisit the songs that shaped the NBA 2K experience over the years.

Among the standout tracks are “Feelin’ Myself” by Mac Dre, “Law N Order” by GELO, “When I Come Around” by Green Day, and Tyla’s “Push 2 Start”.
