South African celebrity chef, Lorna Maseko, excitedly shared that she was a guest on an episode of the popular Food Network cooking show, “Bobby’s Triple Threat”.

Maseko revealed on Instagram: “There’s never a dull moment when you’re in @bobbyflay’s kitchen… Can’t wait for you to see this one!”

Not to forget that she looked stunning as she wore a South African brand, Maxhosa Africa, during the shoot.

She further revealed that the episode that she made an appearance on aired on Tuesday, October 7, and it is titled ‘Titans vs Martel Stone”. It is unclear when the episode will air in South Africa.

“Catch me as a guest judge on ‘Bobby’s Triple Threat - Titans vs Martel Stone’, premiering tonight, October 7th at 8pm on @FoodNetwork.”

“Bobby’s Triple Threat” is a culinary competition where three expert chefs (titans), chosen by Bobby Flay, an American celebrity chef, compete against a talented chef.

The competition consists of high-pressure challenges in three rounds, and the chef competes with one of the titans each round, with two surprise ingredients that must be included in the dish.

If the competing chef wins against the titans, they take home a cash prize of $25,000 (approximately R427 000).

Maseko’s career has taken off since she decided to embark on a culinary journey in 2015 when she participated in “Celebrity MasterChef SA”.

According to an article released on the “Vodacom” website in 2020, Maseko shared that during the show, that’s when she realised that she loved cooking.

“I’ve always loved food, but my journey really started when I took part in 'Celebrity MasterChef' and got to the top six.

“I remember leaving the competition and thinking to myself, ‘I absolutely love this and want to continue to do it’. That experience truly ignited my passion for food so much more,” she said.

The former ballet dancer has since hosted the 2016 cooking reality series "Top Chef SA" and landed her own series, “The Hostess with Lorna Maseko", on SABC3 in 2017.

She has also released her own cookbooks and won two Gourmand Awards.

Maseko also celebrated her "girl boss moves" early this year after she partnered with an SA airline, FlySAA to bring a taste of Africa to the skies.
