South African artist Ciza (real name Nkululeko Nciza) is celebrating the release of the remix of his hit track “Isaka (6am)”, featuring Nigerian artists Tems and Omah Lay.
The collaboration has been described by Ciza as both a personal and musical milestone, highlighting the power of music to connect people across borders.
Sharing a video on social media of himself in the studio with his parents, TK Nciza and Nhlanhla Mafu, Ciza wrote: “I’m so proud of this remix. Tems and Omah Lay took it to the next level."
"The first thing I wanted to do was share it with both of my parents. Proof that good music brings people together. I can only go back to the days you guys told me I’d be making the world dance one day.”
Ciza reflected on the journey of “Isaka (6am)” and the impact it has had on his career.
He explained that the track was created one night in the studio while working with two friends.
“One night I played ‘Isaka’ live and the internet went crazy. Then the dance challenge took over and changed everything. The official video reached one million views in just 48 hours. Because of ‘Isaka’, I have performed on stages all over the world with artists like Black Coffee.”
“I’ve been able to achieve all of this with my family by my side. The support of my friends and the love from my hometown raised me. Every time a DJ spins or remixes ‘Isaka’, it feels like it can’t get any bigger. But then two of the biggest artists in the world came together for the official remix. And the rest will be history.”
On his 24th birthday, Ciza noted he realised the scale of the song’s success. “‘Isaka (6am)’ is the most-streamed song on Spotify in South Africa this year,” he shared.
Ciza collaborated on the song with Jazzworx and Thukuthela, whose real names are Kamohelo Monese and Kgotso Dube, respectively.
The remix brings together different styles and influences, reflecting both South African and Nigerian sounds.
The official release of “Isaka II (6AM)” is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, at 8pm on music platforms.
Fans can expect a blend of rhythmic energy and melodic interplay, continuing the momentum of the original track while highlighting the contributions of Tems and Omah Lay.
