Damiano David, lead singer of “Maneskin”, has released his new single “Talk To Me”, featuring South African Grammy award-winning artist Tyla and legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers.
The song dropped on Friday, September 12, and is included on the deluxe edition of David’s debut solo album “Funny Little Fears”, which has been rereleased as “Funny Little Dreams”.
This is one collaboration many did not see coming. “Talk To Me” joins three different artists, one from a different era, yet they delivered one catchy pop song.
With Tyla’s distinctive vocals, and Rodgers’ signature guitar, the track brings a fresh perspective of just how versatile the two-time Moonman winner is.
In a statement, David said the idea came to him as he was preparing for his world tour. “I unexpectedly felt a new wave of inspiration that led me to write ‘Talk to Me’.
“Knowing Nile Rodgers thought it was worthy of his solo guitar was incredible. I always felt it should be a duet, and since I’ve been listening to ‘Water’ a lot, I really wanted Tyla on it.”
Tyla described the collaboration as an instant connection. “Damiano sent me this record, and I instantly fell in love with how nostalgic it felt. I heard myself on it straight away.”
On the other hand, Rodgers is known for his work with the disco group Chic and for producing hits for artists like David Bowie, Madonna, and Daft Punk.
“When I received the song from Damiano and Tyla, I really loved the vibe it gave me and wanted my guitar to be the third voice on this track. ‘Talk To Me’ was a really fun project to work on,” Rodgers shared.
The deluxe version of “Funny Little Fears” adds four new songs, such as “Cinnamon” with Albert Hammond Jr., “Naked”, “Mysterious Girl” and “Over”.
The original album, released in May, has already surpassed more than 800 million global streams.
David began his first solo world tour on September 11 in Warsaw, Poland. The tour will cover Europe, Australia, Asia, South America, and North America, concluding on December 16 in Maryland, USA.
Alongside the tour, the Italian singer earned two nominations at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Long-Form Video and MTV Push Performance of the Year.
