The crime-solving trio, Charles, Oliver and Mabel, will be back on Disney+ in September with more murder mysteries and mayhem in season 5 of "Only Murders in the Building".

This time, following the suspicious death of their cherished doorman, Lester, the three are determined to prove that it was not just an accident.

Their investigation will lead them through the shadowy corners of New York City and beyond, revealing a dangerous web of secrets that connects powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters and the mysterious residents of the Arconia.

The star-studded features include returning favourites Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez and Michael Cyril Creighton, along with special guest stars,  Meryl Streep, Renée Zellweger, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Richard Kind.

Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, and Jermaine Fowler round up the cast.

Created and written by Martin and John Hoffman, with the duo also serving as executive producers alongside Short and Gomez, the series has been entertaining viewers since 2021 and has gone on to win close to 50 awards.

In a recent interview online, Gomez stated, "I’m going to give the writers full credit, because they shock me. I’m a realist, so of course, in my mind, I think, 'How many people could possibly be at our building and this happens?'

"And every time they lay out the storyline for me, they point out key arcs that each of our characters are going to go through.

"I’ve noticed that with my character, they’ve really allowed her to grow. She, I think, felt a bit more lost, and this season in particular, she’s very much in control of herself and the situation. So, it makes me feel very proud to grow with the show."

She added: "I ask Steve and Marty for advice on certain lines, and 'Could I make it funnier this way?' It’s a big family and I’m just happy we’re still here."

Season five of "Only Murders in the Building" will air on September 9 on Disney+.
