Taylor Swift will release a new documentary series titled “End of an Era”, offering an inside look at the journey behind her landmark "The Eras Tour".

The six-part series will begin streaming on Disney+ on December 12, with two episodes available at launch and new episodes released weekly, setting the stage for an in-depth exploration of Swift’s experience.

For the first time, Swift will show what her life was like while managing one of the most demanding concert tours in pop history.

Building on the excitement of the series’ launch, she described the project as an honest reflection on the work, pressure and unity that shaped the tour.

In a promotional video, Swift said, “People like to talk about phenomena, almost as if they were pieces falling into place, as if it just happened.”

She continued, “'The Eras Tour' wasn’t when all the pieces fell into place. This tour was when every single one of us had done so much work, pushing inch by inch, to where we all clicked together.”

She added, “We have broken every single record you can break with this tour. The only thing left is to close the book.”

Alongside the documentary series, Swift has also announced an updated concert film titled “The Eras Tour | The Final Show”, which will follow more than a week after the release of her twelfth studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl”.

The film will include the full set from “The Tortured Poets Department” and footage from the final night of the tour.

In a post sharing the trailer, Swift wrote, “It was the ‘End of an Era’ and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down.

"And to film the final show in its entirety.”

The promotional video includes appearances from artists who have been part of Swift’s journey, including Ed Sheeran, Sabrina Carpenter, Florence Welch and Gracie Abrams. Their presence highlights the network of collaborators and peers who witnessed the impact of the tour firsthand.

Swift’s tour has been widely recognised for breaking records across continents. She became the first solo artist to headline London’s Wembley Stadium eight times during a single tour.

The shows drew global attention, not only for their length and production but for the personal storytelling woven through each era of her music.

More recently, Swift clocked a new milestone with “The Life of a Showgirl", which debuted at number one in the United Kingdom. It marked her third chart-topping release of 2025, following “Lover (Live From Paris)” in February and the return of “The Tortured Poets Department” to number one in April.

This album is also significant as it is her first studio release since announcing her engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce in August. It comes after she confirmed in May that she had regained full control of her master recordings, a battle she has spoken about for years.

In another Instagram post reflecting on the album’s reception, Swift shared a personal note with fans.

“I’ll never forget how excited I was in 2006 when my first album sold 40,000 copies in its first week,” she wrote. “I was 16 and couldn’t even fathom that that many people would care enough about my music to invest their time and energy into it.”

She continued, “Since then, I’ve tried to meet and thank as many people as I could who have given me the chance to chase this insane dream. Here we are, all these years later and a hundred times that many people showed up for me this week.”

Swift expressed her gratitude again, saying, “I have 4 million thank you’s I want to send to the fans, and 4 million reasons to feel even more proud of this album than I already was."

"Thank you for going out to celebrate this project in the movie theatres, investing in vinyl, streaming, watching the video, buying CDs, reading the poems I wrote inside the packaging, and immersing yourselves in 'The Life of a Showgirl'.”

She ended the message with, “I’ll cherish this feeling forever. Just wow. Thank you for the lovely bouquet.”
