The first-ever reunion in the world for “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa” aired and failed to live up to the hype.
Since the spin-off of “The Real Housewives" launched in 2021, this marks the first time that an Ultimate Girls Trip cast has come together for a reunion.
“The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa” aired in two parts, on Showmax on February 20 and February 27, 2026, and on Mzansi Magic on February 21 and February 28, 2026.
“The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa” brought together Housewives from across the continent, including cast members from Durban and Johannesburg in South Africa, Nairobi in Kenya, and Abuja and Lagos in Nigeria.
While the show is meant to be entertaining, the season was far from it, marred by claims of bullying and women going below the belt, receiving plenty of backlash from viewers.
At the reunion, the Housewives were meant to all discuss what happened in Rio de Janeiro and take accountability for their actions. Some of the ladies, like Madam Evodia and Dr C, were able to apologise for their actions and make amends.
MaBlerh, once again, returned to the host seat of “The Real Housewives” reunion, but instead of addressing everything head-on and holding everyone accountable, he skimmed over issues and had selective favouritism.
MaBlerh had said that his approach would be to not avoid any topic or soften the truth. “If it happened, it will be discussed openly and honestly.”
Come reunion, MaBlerh was wrapping issues faster than necessary and pulling an Andy Cohen by walking off the set when the ladies wouldn't give him a moment. Reprimanding Christal, more than necessary, feeds into the narrative of painting her as problematic.
Thankfully, viewers aren't the ones on the hiring and firing committees, because if they were, he wouldn't be hosting another reunion after this one.
Christall Kay may be a viewer favourite, but her behaviour on the reunion was melodramatic and wannabe diva. The ladies may have been harsh towards “The Real Housewives of Johannesburg” star during their trip, but her lack of accountability and snide remarks at the reunion were unnecessary.
Fans on social media rallied to support Christall for all the bullying she received, but the support might have gone to her head, and that doesn't erase how your actions have instigated certain behaviours as well.
Princess Jecoco, not everyone has that Jecoco fire, so let Zena be in her zen space, let her be boring if she wants. It certainly doesn't change the price of bread.
Jojo Robinson may have brought a skeleton onto the reunion set, but you proved viewers right with the boneless claims.
Annie not being truly honest about her dislike of Christal was another skipped-over moment, with the blame being shifted to Christal’s off-camera behaviour. Yes, Christall was more than wrong for making the crew men uncomfortable, in 2026 no one should be made to feel uncomfortable.
One of the biggest issues of the season was Christall’s comments to the Nigerian cast members Jaecoco and Mariam. Sadly, this issue wasn't fully resolved; production failed to replay the moment or words that caused the uproar, skimming over the moment, and the cast involved all failed to properly account for it, resulting in another disagree-to-agree moment.
Angel may seem like a flip-flopper following her actions during the season and then her sudden maturity and accountability at reunions, but at least she can reflect and see her wrongs.
One thing MaBlerh was right about is that the show is an entertainment one and not news, and everyone involved, from production, cast, and viewers, has a duty to make sure it's a healthy space, not one filled with bullying on and off screens.
