What if you could only speak 140 words a day? How would it change how you communicate, argue, or even express love?
Sam Steiner’s internationally acclaimed romcom, "Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons" explores these very questions in a clever and deeply moving way.
Set in a world where language is gradually restricted, the play follows Bernadette and Oliver as they try to make their relationship work under a government-imposed word limit.
Every sentence counts, every pause has meaning.
In today’s world, where we’re bombarded with endless opinions online, this production makes us reflect on the true value of our words.
Starring Maxim du Toit and Jessie Diepeveen, known for their exceptional performances, this production brings new energy to the play.
As communication becomes limited, the play delves into the effects on relationships, personal expression and freedom.
Directed by Henu Baden, whose previous work includes "Every Brilliant Thing", this adaptation is both funny and thought-provoking.
It challenges us to reconsider not just how we speak, but how we connect with each other.
Since its premiere in 2015, "Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons" has been performed worldwide, with a major West End revival in 2023.
The production’s blend of humour and emotional depth makes it both entertaining and thought-provoking. Steiner’s sharp writing challenges audiences to reconsider how they communicate, not just through speech, but through action, silence and the spaces in between.

"Wonka"
Join an exciting, family-friendly adventure as their talented drama students showcase their skills in a fun and dynamic production of "Wonka".
Adapted by the creative genius Darryl Spijkers, this vibrant performance brings the magical world of Willy Wonka to life, following the eccentric candy manufacturer as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his irresistible candy bars.
The lucky winners will receive an exclusive tour of the legendary Wonka factory and, as if that wasn’t enough, a lifetime supply of candy.
But not all the golden ticket holders are as delightful as the treats themselves.
Four of the five children are insufferable brats, each displaying a selfish, bratty nature that causes chaos in the factory.
The fifth winner? The sweet and humble Charlie, who, along with his kind-hearted grandfather, takes the tour with a sense of wonder and gratitude.
As the tour unfolds, the children must learn the hard way that Mr. Wonka’s rules are not to be ignored. Failure to follow them can lead to serious consequences.
With incredible performances from the drama students, "Wonka" offers a magical escape, celebrating the importance of kindness, humility and the joy of a good adventure.
Where: The Playhouse Theatre, Somerset West.
When: Thursday, March 6 to March 15.

As their love blossoms, Giselle is unaware of Albrecht's hidden truth: he is already engaged to another.
When the devastating truth is revealed, Giselle is crushed by the betrayal and dies from the overwhelming grief.
The second act transports us to the realm of the supernatural, where Giselle’s spirit returns as a Wili - a ghostly figure of a woman who died before her wedding day.
Amidst the haunting atmosphere, Giselle encounters Albrecht, who is consumed by sorrow and guilt.
Although the Wilis are vengeful spirits intent on leading men to their doom, Giselle’s pure love shines through.
Despite the intent to claim Albrecht’s life, her compassion and love ultimately save him, breaking the cycle of vengeance.
