Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has been making waves both on and off the rugby field.
Born to British-born radio personality Nick Feinberg, who emigrated to South Africa in 1994, and Makhosazana Mngomezulu, a South African lawyer, he carries both surnames as a reflection of his diverse heritage.
His father recently addressed criticism from a social media user questioning why Sacha used both surnames.
The troll asked if Nick pressured his son into including his “hard-to-pronounce” name. Nick responded firmly: “I don’t normally answer stuff like this. But to satisfy whatever deep need you are servicing, the answer to that is no.”
Sacha’s family has other public figures. His brother, Nathan Soan-Mngomezulu, is known for social media and reality TV, including an appearance on season 3 of the UK dating show “Too Hot to Handle”.
Sacha has shared the significance of his name, telling “Behind the Ruck Podcast” with Rudy Paige and Juan De Jongh, “Sacha is a Russian name, as my family has Russian descent, and it means ‘the defender of mankind.’ Mbokodo means a ‘strong rock’ and Mngomezulu means the ‘song of the heavens’. There is a bit of everything in my name.”
On the field, Sacha has impressed since his international Springbok debut in June 2024.
He recently scored a record-breaking 37 points in a test match against Argentina, prompting comparisons to rugby legends like Dan Carter and reinforcing his reputation as a generational talent.
Fans and analysts highlight his vision, skill and consistency, positioning him as one of South Africa’s rising rugby stars.
Off the field, Sacha’s influence extends into fashion and lifestyle. He has collaborated with major brands, including Rabanne for their Invictus Victory Absolu fragrance, posting content showcasing the product.
On Instagram, he described wearing the fragrance with “Power & Purpose” like armour, emphasising how he blends personal style with his professional image.
He has also featured in Adidas campaigns, including their ZNE sportswear collection.
While he has limited appearances on red carpets or in high-fashion shows, his collaborations and social media presence signal a growing influence in sportswear and lifestyle fashion.
Recently, speculation about a possible romantic relationship between Sacha and influencer Sarah Langa has surfaced.
During post-match celebrations after his record-breaking performance this past weekend, Sacha was seen embracing a woman and seemingly exchanging a peck, sparking interest in her identity.
From a distance, the woman appeared to resemble Langa. Neither has confirmed the relationship, and Sacha generally maintains privacy regarding his personal life.
Beyond fashion and lifestyle, Sacha has spoken about using his platform to inspire young people. “My purpose is to show the young guys that even at a young age, you can achieve what you put your mind to,” he said.
His inclusion in the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 Class of 2025 in the sports category further recognises his role as a rising South African trailblazer.
Whether in rugby, fashion or social influence, Sacha continues to carve a path marked by talent, ambition and careful management of his personal and professional life.
