When asked what they want to be when they grow up, we so often hear kids say, “I want to be a pilot!”

Well, this little boy got to experience what many kids out there can only dream about when a pilot took the time to show him around the cockpit.

With all the bright lights and a whole lot of buttons and levers, the captain gave him some inside info about what all those gadgets do.

The inquisitive little man got to push the lever that, as the pilot told him, “makes us go fast.”

To make the experience even more exciting, the pilot then put him in the driver’s seat and placed his hat on the little boy’s head.

After they adjusted the mini pilot’s chair, he eagerly enquired about all the other buttons, asking, “What’s that?” as he looked around the control panel.

“The pilot is, you know,” the captain told him before he exited the cockpit.

After his dad, Dr Pako E. Mokgwane, shared the heart-warming clip on his Instagram page, the pilot, Sibusiso Nxumalo, commented on the video saying, “This was such a special moment with the amazing future Pilot. It made our day. What a curious and enthusiastic soul.”

This unforgettable experience took place on a South African Airways flight.

The airline popped up in the comment section as well, saying, “The best moments. Thanks for capturing this and hats off to our amazing Captain/Teacher @flyingzulu.”

The post has gone viral with more than 1,500 shares and hundreds of people flocking to comment.

“Love this!! As an airline worker I try to give the same vision of possibility to young minorities and young girls as well to open up the over saturated world of white male pilots,” said one person.

Another took a glimpse into the future and commented, “Maybe this was the meeting of the generations. And in 40 years another child will enter the cockpit and he is the pilot flying it... and time goes on and on...”

One person, after observing the boy’s interactions, said: “Am not sure if you were paying attention fully to this young man, he asked the pilot "what should i do", see his attitude is so amazing and it shows that his willing to learn. I don't know you young man but i pray that you become a leader one day.”

I’m sure this brief moment will forever live on in his mind, be a story he will eagerly share and possibly drive him to achieve a dream that so many other boys and girls have.
