The Grammy-nominated music producer recently turned his birthday into a once-in-a-lifetime experience for his fiancée, Selena Gomez, and it’s the kind of thoughtful gesture that makes us swoon.
During an April 7 appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show", Blanco spilled the details of his unique birthday celebration and, let’s just say, it wasn’t your typical “cake and candles” affair.
Instead, he decided to throw a prom-themed party not for himself, but for his future wife, who never had the chance to attend one as a teenager.

Gomez, the multi-talented star we all know and love, was homeschooled during her Disney Channel days, which meant she missed out on high school milestones like prom.
Enter Blanco, who decided to give her the full prom experience for his birthday. “Selena had never been to a prom before,” he revealed during his interview with Hudson. “So, I thought I’d throw us a prom for my birthday.”
Talk about a romantic twist! Blanco explained that while Gomez was unfamiliar with the ins and outs of prom, he had some experience to lean on. “I got invited twice when I was younger,” he shared.
“One time, I went with a friend; we went in a group and then one time, I went with a girlfriend.” But this prom? It was different.
“My favourite prom was with my partner,” Blanco gushed. Gomez, unsure of what to expect, asked Blanco for guidance.
“She didn’t even know. She was like, ‘What am I supposed to wear? What am I supposed to do?’ It was like she was really going to prom. I got her a little corsage.”
And what’s prom without a jaw-dropping outfit? Gomez certainly understood the assignment. Photos from the event, shared by Selena’s friend and former assistant Theresa Mingus, showed the former Disney star looking radiant in a hot pink Oscar De La Renta gown.
The strapless dress featured corset detailing and a high-low bubble skirt, reportedly costing nearly $11,000 (per Page Six). She paired the look with a chic black fur coat and a statement choker, proving once again that she’s a fashion icon.
Meanwhile, Blanco kept it classic in a black tuxedo, perfectly complementing Gomez’s glamorous ensemble. Sure, it’s easy to get caught up in the glitz and glamour of relationships, but Blanco’s prom-themed birthday party is a reminder of something deeper: thoughtfulness.
