Kate Middleton has switched up her signature look, revealing a noticeably lighter shade of hair during her latest royal appearance.

The Princess of Wales was seen on Thursday at the Natural History Museum in London, where she joined Prince William for the opening of a new garden.

What caught people’s attention were her long, golden curls, which confirmed what many had speculated after being seen recently, where she had opted for her lightest style yet.

What was meant to be an event focused on the newly revamped gardens became a conversation about Middleton’s hair.

Wearing her signature blowout with a sun-kissed twist, she drew just as much attention as the gardens she came to open.

Talks of a hair colour change had already begun in late August, when she was spotted arriving at church near Balmoral Castle with William and their three children.

The lighter look sparked quick debate online, with some admiring the transformation and others less impressed.

One comment on X read, “Surely the Royal Family can afford a better-looking wig than this for Kate Middleton. Ladies, this is why you’re supposed to earn your own money … so that you can go and buy proper wigs for yourself."

The hairstyle shift comes at a time when she is returning to royal duties after a challenging year. In March, she revealed that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy following abdominal surgery.

The announcement meant stepping back from public life while she focused on treatment and recovery.

Over the summer, the Princess shared that she had completed her chemotherapy and was now cancer-free, describing the past nine months as “incredibly tough” for her and her family.

She admitted the journey had been frightening but also gave her a new perspective on life, teaching her and Prince William to appreciate the small but important things.

Despite finishing treatment, she noted that her recovery continues and that she will ease back into public engagements while focusing on her health.

Earlier appearances at the King’s official birthday parade and Wimbledon marked her return to the spotlight, leading up to this week’s outing in London.

It is reported that this lighter shade is Middleton’s most dramatic change yet, a fresh twist on a familiar look as she reclaims her space back in the public eye.
