The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has recently announced a recall of selected Lexus vehicles, following a notification from Lexus SA Motors. Here’s what you need to know:
The NCC is recalling Lexus vehicles due to concerns regarding the HVAC systems. The recall affects a total of 20 vehicles.
The recall specifically involves the RZ450e EX, RZ450e SE, and RZ450e SE CVT models. These vehicles were sold nationwide between 15 November 2023 and 7 July 2025.
The affected vehicles are equipped with Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems that control key functions, including the windshield defroster. Due to a software programming issue in the HVAC control ECU, the system can enter a failsafe mode, suspending heater operation.
In very low temperatures, the defrosting performance may diminish, potentially failing to clear frost, ice, or fog from the windshield. This could seriously impair driver visibility and increase crash risks under certain conditions.
Consumers who own the affected vehicles are advised to take their cars to an approved Lexus dealership for the necessary reprogramming of the HVAC system to ensure safety on the road.
It is essential for affected Lexus owners to act swiftly to mitigate any risks associated with this recall.
