Stellantis has launched the new Citroen Hola panel van to the South African market, targeting small businesses, courier operators and urban delivery services looking for an affordable and compact workhorse.

The Hola arrives as demand for city-friendly commercial vehicles continues to grow alongside South Africa’s expanding e-commerce sector.

“South Africans made around 35 million more e-commerce purchases in 2024 than in 2019 and parcel volume is still compounding at double-digit rates. Courier operators and SME fulfillment partners urgently need compact, fuel-efficient vehicles that are built to tackle urban traffic and narrow parking spaces,” said Mmathapelo Khumalo, head of Citroen South Africa.

Compact dimensions

The Hola is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine producing 60kW and 115Nm paired to a five-speed manual gearbox driving the front wheels.

Citroen claims combined fuel consumption of 5.6l/100km.

Measuring just under four metres in length and featuring a 10-metre turning circle, the Hola has been designed with dense urban environments in mind.

An elevated seating position improves visibility in traffic and during parking manoeuvres.

The Hola features a fully enclosed load area with a payload capacity of 386kg.

Enclosed load bay

Unlike traditional half-ton bakkies often used for small-scale deliveries, the Hola features a fully enclosed load area with a payload capacity of 386kg.

The rear cargo section includes an integrated bulkhead and load tie-down points aimed at improving cargo security and practicality for operators transporting parcels and goods.

Inside, the Hola features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, allowing access to navigation applications such as Google Maps and Waze.

Other standard equipment includes air conditioning, power steering, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster and a multifunction steering wheel.

Safety and pricing

Safety features include dual front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, as well as rear parking sensors.

Priced at R242,500, it comes with a five-year/100,000km warranty, 15,000km service intervals and an optional two-year/30,000km service plan.
