A police officer keeps watch over the crime scene where Bassier Jansen, 30, was shot and killed in front of his home in Heideveld.
Manenberg police are investigating a murder after a 30-year-old man in a wheelchair was shot dead in Heideveld.
Bassier Jansen was shot and killed outside his Table Mountain Road home at noon on Thursday October 3.
The killer is believed to have been travelling in a white VW Polo that stopped in nearby Duinefontein Road, says police spokesman Captain Ian Bennett.
“It is alleged that a suspect got out of the vehicle, walked over to the victim and shot him multiple times. The gunshots fired at the victim left him with fatal gunshot wounds in the head and upper body.
“The suspects fled in the white VW Polo. No arrests have been made. It is believed that the victim was wheelchair-bound because of previous gang-related gunshot wounds he suffered,” Captain Bennett said.
