The Western Cape Mobility Department, NoStop non-profit organisation and the Department of Labour have invited job-seekers to the Open Day meeting to register and be provided with a voucher at the Eikendal library later this month.
The provincial government is partnering with employers and NGOs to pilot “Getting YOU to Work” — a Jobseeker Travel Voucher Programme to help job seekers find work.
The pilot project offers job seekers 12 free trips to the interviews using Golden Arrow Bus Services. The department launched the project in February.
The vouchers can be used by registered job seekers on any Golden Arrow Bus Service (GABS) from Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm.
The Open Day meeting will be held on Friday November 22, from 9am, until noon at the Eikendal library.
Job seekers will need to come, to the meeting, with their ID documents and CVs if they have them. But those who do not have a CV will be assisted to draft it there.
