A 26-YEAR-old burglary suspect has been apprehended, and stolen goods worth over R10,000 have been recovered, thanks to proactive partnership policing in Postmasburg.
According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela, a burglary at Jenn-Haven Clinic on March 3 set off a swift police investigation.
In a strong display of partnership policing, officers collaborated closely with the local Community Policing Forum (CPF) to track down stolen items hidden at multiple locations. Their efforts paid off when the stolen property was successfully located and recovered.
The police subsequently arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the burglary on March 5. He is expected to appear in court soon to face charges.
The ZF Mgcawu District SAPS management commended the CPF members for their vigilance and dedication, describing them as "the eyes and ears of the community and the State". Authorities have encouraged residents to continue working with law enforcement to combat crime in the area.
