A fourth suspect wanted for the horrific wheelie bin murder in Manenberg has been busted as cops hunted him down at his family home in Hanover Park this week.
In a shocking twist cops have revealed that the 36-year-old suspect was allegedly working as a taxi gaatjie and busted while playing cards with his family on Monday night.
Acting station commander Colonel Harry Brickles revealed detectives had been tracing the fourth suspect’s movements and despite pleas from his own family to hand himself over he refused.
He explains: "His family in Manenberg begged him to hand himself over but he refused and instead fled Manenberg and went to stay in Oribi Court.
"He was also working as a taxi guard on the Cape Town line and after receiving a tip off the detectives tasked the Anti-Gang Unit to go to and catch him.
"He was caught off guard and was playing cards with his family. He has been charged with murder and will appear in the Athlone Magistrates Court on Thursday while the rest of the accused will return on 23 May."
The murder victim was discovered on 6 March as commuters walking along Duinefontein Road got a moerse skrik when they saw the legs of the woman inside the bin as the rubbish was removed.
She was later identified as a 29-year-old drug addict from Gugulethu and discovered that she was last seen alive at a property in Hurricane Street.
Cops descended on the house which is reportedly run as a pella pos for the Hard Livings gang and busted the huisbaas Denver Paulse. Shaheem van Schalkwyk and Zubair Moses were also rounded up and have appeared on murder charges at Athlone Magistrates Court.
