MORE than two years have passed since 30-year-old Seoki Philemon Makgata vanished from his home in Jan Kempdorp - and his loved ones are still desperately searching for answers.
According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock, Makgata was last seen on December 21, 2022, just days before Christmas, by his sister. He was wearing black tracksuit pants, a black Adidas top, and black boots when he left home - and never returned.
Despite the time that has passed, the case remains open and active, with police renewing their appeal to the public for any information that could help trace his whereabouts.
The investigation is being handled by the Jan Kempdorp police, who have urged anyone who may have seen Makgata or knows anything about his disappearance to come forward. Tip-offs can be shared anonymously through the SAPS Crime Stop line, the MySAPS app, or directly with the investigating officer - Detective Sergeant Raneo Molelekeng on 060 976 9067.
Lieutenant-Colonel Kock also reminded the public that there is no waiting period to report a missing person - an important fact that can help save lives and bring peace to families like Makgata's, who are still hoping for a breakthrough.
