Victor Themba Ngcobo, a 38-year-old construction manager, has been found unharmed after he was kidnapped in the Eastern Cape last Wednesday.

Ngcobo was discovered on Monday morning alongside the R335, which is believed to be the route where his abduction had taken place.

According to the missing person report, he was last seen last Wednesday, around 10am in Motherwell in the Eastern Cape.

A TimesLIVE report indicated that Ngcobo's captors did not demand any ransom.

The incident unfolded on June 11 when Ngcobo was allegedly forced into a white Mercedes-Benz by two unknown assailants. The alarm was raised shortly after.

Colonel Avela Fumba, spokesperson for the Hawks in the Eastern Cape, confirmed the successful recovery of Ngcobo. "It is alleged that the suspects forced the victim into a white Mercedes-Benz and drove along the road in Gqeberha. The victim, who works as a construction manager, was found unharmed and had not sustained any physical injuries. The matter is under investigation to determine the full circumstances of the abduction and to identify and apprehend those responsible,” Fumba said.

Fumba urged the public to assist in the investigation, highlighting the importance of community involvement: “We kindly appeal to any members of the public who may have information that could assist in expediting the investigation to come forward. All information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and can be provided anonymously using the MySAPS app.”
