U2's Bono gave Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan a red iPod and walked from Asia to Europe across Istanbul's Bosporus bridge before a concert in the city last night, Haberturk reported.

Bono laughed when Erdogan said he was jailed in 1999 for reading a poem, the newspaper said.

Erdogan gave band members a book about Mevlana, also known as Rumi, who was a philosopher of Islam advocating unlimited tolerance. - Bloomberg
