Media personality and entrepreneur Bonang Matheba has added another sparkling milestone to her impressive portfolio.

Over the weekend, Matheba celebrated the launch of a Mimosa extension for her luxury beverage brand, House of BNG, with Franschhoek’s breathtaking mountains providing the perfect backdrop for what she called the inaugural Retreat at The House of BNG.

Founded in 2019, her brand continues to redefine how consumers experience premium beverages, blending storytelling, style, and experiential luxury. The Retreat reflected this vision, positioning the Mimosa as a sparkling symbol of celebration.

“The House of BNG was inspired by my love for the wine-making process,” Matheba said.

“But it’s the love of every single person who purchases our products that has made the House what it is today. The Retreat was our way of reflecting that love back to our people.”

She has been sharing her excitement on social media, giving millions of her followers a glimpse into her newest addition. “Big emotions today, I’m so geeked! We can’t contain it. We launch our Mimosa in Cape Town..! Aahhhh…”

A highlight of the event was a masterclass led by Matheba herself, alongside the brand’s mixologist, Prayer Moyo, where guests explored the complexity of the Méthode Cap Classique category, the same method behind the brand’s award-winning Brut and Brut Rosé variants.

The Brut has earned an impressive 87/100 from WineMag.co.za and 93 points from leading wine authority Michael Fridjhon, a rare feat achieved by less than 3% of the wines he reviews. Meanwhile, the Brut Rosé scored 90 points, cementing House of BNG’s status in South Africa’s premium wine scene.

The timing of the launch was symbolic. As the world marks International Women’s Month, Matheba’s influence as a businesswoman and cultural leader was front and center.

Months ago, she joined the ranks of Africa’s 100 Most Reputable Africans by Reputation Poll International, an honour recognising leaders whose integrity, impact, and influence inspire trust across the continent and beyond.

Her global influence continues to grow. In 2025, she hosted the international beauty pageant Miss Cosmo, cementing her reputation as a powerhouse in entertainment and media. Her polished presence, unmistakable style, and consistent excellence serve as a reminder of why she remains one of Africa’s most respected icons.

Through her brand, public presence, and leadership, Matheba continues to show that women are not just participants in industries historically dominated by men, they are architects of culture, style, and influence.
