Star skateboarder continues to shine on global stage

Professional skateboarder Jean-marc Johannes, from Athlone, won silver for men’s street skateboarding at the Freestyle Tour Open by FISE world series Tignes, in France, recently.

Johannes’s second-place finish marks his 10th international podium representing South African skateboarding.

In 2015, he won the FISE/Shrick video series Contest and won gold at the FISE world series Am in 2016.

His other recent achievements include finishing in third place at the FISE Montpellier Am in 2023, third at the FISE La Clusaz Street Open and Kardo International Open in 2023; and collecting the Best Trick award at the Fise Freestyle La Clusaz in 2022.
