Laura Wolvaardt says she is pleased with how the Proteas Women responded to recent struggles, after leading the side to a 4–1 T20 series win over India women's national cricket team.

Speaking after the final match earlier this week, Wolvaardt said the turnaround from a difficult tour of New Zealand showed the progress the team has made.

SA took early control of the five-match series and maintained their momentum, with consistent performances across batting, bowling and fielding, according to Nabob News

Wolvaardt said the group had improved in key areas and responded well to challenges, adding that finishing the series strongly was important.

"I am very pleased with how the series has gone," she told the press post match.

"I think obviously coming off of a tough New Zealand tour to turn the tables to get it to 4-1 is awesome.

"I really like how the group has bounced back from that and how much better we've gotten in areas that we've spoken about."

She also noted that India are in SA’s group for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup, saying the performances in the series give the team confidence ahead of that competition.

SA sealed the series with a 23-run win in the final match, with Wolvaardt scoring an unbeaten 92 to guide the team to a competitive total on a challenging pitch.

She said the surface offered uneven bounce, but 155 proved enough as the bowlers delivered a strong defensive performance.

Wolvaardt said the result shows how quickly form can change in cricket, pointing to her own recent struggles and improved performances in this series.

According to Nabob News, the Proteas Women controlled the series from early on, producing consistent displays across all departments to secure a convincing victory.

The result provides momentum for the team as they continue preparations for upcoming international tournaments.
