Siya Kolisi, Springboks go to town on ‘half-man’ Cheslin Kolbe jokes

Siya Kolisi and his Springbok teammates, including Cheslin Kolbe, shared humorous Instagram moments in London, with Kolisi’s comedic video and RG Snyman’s photos highlighting Kolbe’s smaller stature among the towering forwards. Springboks wing Cheslin Kolbe was the butt of the joke in a tongue-in-cheek video, which has over 2 million views on Instagram alone,  posted by his skipper Siya Kolisi in London earlier this week.

Kolisi was walking through the city streets among skyscrapers, which he made sure to mention, before showing his lanky forward teammates Eben Etzebeth, RG Snyman, and Lood de Jager.

If Kolisi decides to start a different career after he hangs up his rugby boots, he could easily pursue one in comedy as his humorous narration hit the mark.

In between hearty laughter, Kolisi cuts to the quick after saying, “ We’ve got another tower,” as the four burly men walk on the streets.

“We have four men here, well, I’m a beautiful man,” before he turns to Kolbe and says, “and then we have the other half.”

Cue the booming Kolisi laugh once more, as Kolbe sees the humour in his skipper’s banter.

Not wanting to be left out, Snyman also posted four Instagram pics from his time with his teammates. Kolbe is in all four pics, but only his head is visible each time.  Snyman captions the images “Photo album from tour” as he lets the pictures do the talking, and like Kolisi’s video, it’s another bit of comedy gold. Kolbe also posted the same four pics on his Instagram page.

It’s worth pointing out, though, that Kolbe stands around 1.72m tall, which is not exactly short but compared to many of his Springbok teammates, he appears rather small in stature.

De Jager, meanwhile, posted an untitled picture on Instagram where the three forwards have their heads cropped out in a shot with Kolbe’s entire body in the frame while not reaching the shoulders of his teammates.
