In the spirit of Ramadan, Time to Care (TTC), a prominent non-profit charity organisation, has ramped up its food distribution efforts across South Africa, providing much-needed support to vulnerable communities.

Over the past two months, TTC has successfully distributed 1 500 food hampers to underserved areas, including Tembisa, Coronationville, Daveyton, Alexandra, Ivory Park, Diep Kloof, and Sloloville, ensuring that families in need can benefit from vital sustenance during this holy month.

On March 21, 2025, Human Rights Day, TTC’s distribution efforts in Diep Kloof gained significant attention with the participation of Gauteng’s MEC for Social Development, Faith Mazibuko. Mazibuko acknowledged the ongoing struggle against poverty, highlighting the importance of initiatives like TTC’s. "We recognise that poverty remains a major issue here. Time to Care is making a difference by assisting the elderly and those in need. We hope they continue their invaluable work," she said.

''Additionally, Mr. Mustafa Eroglu, Secretary General of Horizon Educational Trust, joined the event, reaffirming his organization’s two-decade-long commitment to humanitarian aid.TTC’s charitable efforts did not stop in Diep Kloof. On March 26, the organisation continued its distribution with the delivery of 360 food parcels in Sloloville, hosted at Time for Chris Church. This event further exemplified TTC's commitment to providing crucial support to struggling communities during Ramadan and beyond.

''Huseyin Kublay, Director of TTC, has remained at the forefront of organizing the food hamper distributions. He has also been actively calling for volunteers to help with packing, loading, and distributing food parcels. "Every day, we witness thousands of people in difficult situations. Our mission is to be there on time to help them.

''Currently, we are distributing food hampers across multiple locations in Gauteng. Regardless of race, religion, culture, or background, we will continue to support those in need. Seeing the smiles on people's faces motivates us to reach even more communities," Kublay shared.

Expanding Humanitarian Efforts Across South Africa

Time to Care’s mission, which focuses on fostering a culture of unconditional care, is making a significant impact across South Africa. The organisation’s initiatives extend far beyond food distribution, reaching communities from Ivory Park to Soweto, Koolfontein to Diep Kloof, and from Durban to Cape Town. TTC offers a variety of community programs, including skill development courses in art, baking, and sewing, as well as feeding schemes that provide food hampers and meat. In addition to these, TTC promotes entrepreneurship and operates educational centres, all while supporting youth development through school-based clubs that prepare thousands of sandwiches each week for learners.

Recent Initiatives and Achievements

TTC has been busy with numerous other initiatives in the past two months. In addition to its food distribution efforts, the organization recently conducted a stationery drive, distributing 100 packs to learners in Koolfontein, Ivory Park, Midrand, and Pretoria.

The organisation also runs skill development programs in Midrand and Daveyton, offering biweekly baking and sewing classes in Midrand and weekly sessions in Daveyton. These programs empower participants with skills that improve their economic prospects, promoting self-sufficiency and economic independence.

In Durban and Cape Town, TTC-supported schools have provided over 5,000 sandwiches to partner institutions, ensuring students receive nutritious meals to help them stay focused on their education. The school-based clubs across the country continue to prepare thousands of sandwiches each week, reinforcing TTC’s commitment to child nutrition.
