In a stunning display of skill and determination, the Springboks triumphed over Argentina with a resounding 67-30 victory at Kings Park, placing South Africa firmly in contention to defend their Rugby Championship title.

This electrifying performance not only marked the second bonus-point win for the Boks in this year's tournament but also propelled them to the top of the standings for the first time, sparking hopes of achieving a historic back-to-back championship win.

The match was spearheaded by the remarkable fly-half Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, whose playmaking prowess dazzled fans and analysts alike.

But, Bok coach Rassie Erasmus has reminded his team of how a “haastige hond can brand sy mond” as a slip-up in their second meeting against the Pumas at Twickenham this weekend, could see the winner of the second clash between the Wallabies and All Blacks in Perth steal the crown.

Still, Erasmus has been impressed with how his Bok team has gelled since beating the All Blacks 43-10 and making mak katjies of the Pumas on Saturday.

Praising his side, Erasmus wysed: “It takes time to swap people in and out and have them play in sync – but we also know how quickly that can change, so we won’t get carried away.

“We want to build an understanding within the squad so that when we make changes, it doesn’t affect our play. But we’ve won nothing yet; we’ve had one win and one loss against New Zealand and Australia, and we know how tough Argentina are.

“We’re flying tomorrow [Sunday], we’re playing at Twickenham and we have to win that game or it’s just a missed Rugby Championship.”

Erasmus and Bok captain Siya Kolisi were both full of praise for Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s coming of age performance, with Erasmus saying: “Nobody can disagree that he was brilliant on the day… no one can disagree that Sacha was man of the match and did incredible things on the field.

Kolisi added of his jong generaal: “Sacha was amazing – not just in the way he scored tries, but in the way he controlled the game.

“He took charge and took leadership which is what we wanted him to do. Hopefully he can continue next week.”
