Cape Town – Now celebrating its seventh year since opening in 2011, the Cape Town Diamond Museum pays homage to the extraordinary story of humankind’s fascination with diamonds.
“We are proud to pay homage to diamonds and celebrate the multiple effects that they have had on everything from the mining industry to the economy - and on the hearts and minds of millions around the world,” said Shimansky Jewellers Founder and CEO Yair Shimansky.

In commemoration of its birthday celebrations, visitors can look forward to a number of authentic artefacts that tell the amazing story of diamonds, and in particular the story of South Africa’s diamond trade.
The entire experience is designed to ensure that you feel the excitement and mystery surrounding these beautiful gems.
The museum is also currently home to a sample of the oldest known substance on Earth called Peridotite, and the three-billion-year-old Portrait of a Woman diamond, created by Mother Nature herself.
