The Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation has announced the fourth edition of the Empowering HER Seminar and Business Awards 2024.

The event, brought by African Bank in partnership with the Hollywood Foundation, will feature a comprehensive women's empowerment seminar that will have a diverse range of speakers and will be followed by a prestigious business awards ceremony.

Actress and author Ayanda Borotho returns as the MC for the event, and founder of Ntinta Investments and former regional director at Meta Nunu Ntshingila has been announced as the keynote speaker.

UN Global Goodwill Ambassador and champion spokesperson for the event, Nomzamo Mbatha said: “Empowering HER is more than an event; it’s a movement that celebrates, educates, and empowers women.

“Through this initiative, we aim to explore crucial themes such as financial empowerment, operational efficiency, and branding for growth.”

Empowering HER 2024 will bring together distinguished invitees, including industry partners, sponsors, and leaders from various sectors.

Speakers include; Portia Mngomezulu, founder of skin care products company Portia M Skin Solutions, social entrepreneur in the financial literacy space Nicolette Mashile, advocate and entertainment law consultant Katlego Malatji, Waseem Carrim, CEO of the National Youth Development Agency and marketing thought leader Lebo Lion, and more.

The business awards, presented by the Hollywood Foundation, will honour outstanding women entrepreneurs and leaders who have made notable contributions to their industries.

African Bank has partnered with the event to help bridge the gender inequality gap.

“Gender equality is a key pillar of our Transformation Strategy, and this partnership is one of the platforms that give expression to this crucial pillar through empowering women in business,” said Sbusiso Kumalo, chief marketing officer at African Bank.

In addition to the insightful discussions and prestigious awards, attendees will enjoy entertainment throughout the day, making this not only an educational, but also an engaging experience.

This prestigious event will take place on Saturday, September 14 at the Inanda Country Club in Sandton from 9am to 5pm.
