DURBAN - A multidisciplinary operation in the Richmond area has led to the arrest of two suspects for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition yesterday.

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele said police officers and Magma Security & Investigations received information about a vehicle travelling towards Hammarsdale which was suspected to be carrying illegal firearms.

Shaheen Suleiman, the owner of the security company , said they received information just after 1pm on Monday of a suspect driving from the Richmond area to Hammarsdale in a white Citi Golf vehicle carrying firearms.
