Pretoria - South African music icon Dr Malinga is the main beneficiary of this year's Tshwane All White Festival.

The event is happening this Friday at Mzansi Resort, formerly known as Morula Sun, in Mabopane, Pretoria.

Coincidentally, the Tshwane All White Festival is marking its 16th anniversary this year. Dr Malinga, born Goodwill Malinga, is also celebrating his 10th year in the music industry.

The festival organisers, Tebogo Manganye and "Sister T" Baloyi took a resolution that on this year's edition, they would partner with Dr Malinga.

The Hammanskraal, Pretoria born star was trending recently after he revealed that he owed the South African Revenue Service R2.1 million in a tax bill.

Dr Malinga also opened up about the struggles he faced during Covid-19 pandemic.

He said the taxman attached and seized his valuables "in front of me and my family".

Dr Malinga is still owing about R400 000.

He previously said Sars was about the attach his home when he paid R100 000 raised through donations from the public.

The “Via Orlando” hitmaker said he wanted to settle this before Sars came knocking again.

Through the festival, the organisers wants to assist him to settle his debt immediately after the event.

According to the organisers, many artists were willing to support Dr Malinga to settle his debt.

The event was last hosted successfully before the Covid-19 outbreak in 2019.

"We are hoping to reach our mark of attracting over 10 000 people as we always do, but for the good course of assisting Dr Malinga," the organisers said in a statement.
