Magesi FC head coach Owen Da Gama believes there is a need to sign an experienced forward to take the pressure off Wonderboy Makhubu as Dikwena tša Meetse aim to move out of the relegation zone in the Betway Premiership.
The 28-year-old Makhubu has struggled with consistency, having scored two goals and provided one assist in 15 appearances across all competitions this season.
The Limpopo-based outfit, who shocked South African football by defeating Tshwane giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the final to clinch the Carling Knockout Cup last year, currently find themselves firmly rooted at the bottom of the log standings with only seven points from 12 matches.

Things went from bad to worse on Sunday after they suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit AmaZulu at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Da Gama, who was brought in after the departure of Clinton Clinton Larsen, believes that an experienced striker is needed to help the side in their quest to remain in the top tier.
“I think we need another experienced striker upfront just to take the pressure off Makhubu.
“There’s too much pressure on the boy, and I think Gift Motupa is getting there, but he’s not quite there yet. You can understand how long Gift has been out of the game, and he’s a quality player. If we could get Gift right and Sekgota right, I think we could succeed," Da Gama said as per FarPost.
"They are pushing hard, and that’s why they are in the match day squad.“The management is busy looking for players to strengthen the team, but I can’t speak much about that. We are working on quite a few aspects of signings, and we are looking at them
"But you have to understand that we can’t bring in a player that we have to coach for six months and, at the end of the season, is ready to play. We need players who can come in and hit the ground running. We need players who are ready to play and add value to the team; it’s as simple as that.”
